Picture of the Day – Dot under a blanket
Doesn’t she look happy? Actually, according to Sam, cats (or at least this cat) like to be under things, looking out. Dot humors me for awhile, then runs off, being the cheeky cat that she is.

Picture of the Day – Dot in a box
As expected, when I moved to Florida, there were boxes around the living room for a few weeks. This box was near the door and was scheduled to be thrown out. Dot decided it would make a nice place to hang out. It reminded me of the “Free Kitten” box that is at PIER in [...]
Picture of the Day – Starfish
This photo was taken at The Pier in St. Petersburg (see the colorful fish photo). I followed the starfish as it was eating another sea creature (oyster or snail, I’m not sure), and then moved its way around the tank and started to climb up the side. It was both fascinating and freaky. I’d totally [...]
Picture of the Day – Nature’s Teacup
This picture was taken the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo, FL. Sam and I wandered through the herb garden, and I thought seeing a teacup in a nature setting was rather neat. The day was rather warm, so we didn’t stay more than a couple hours. I would like to go back, though.
Delicious [...]
Picture of the day – colorful fish
Sam and I visited The Pier in St. Petersburg, FL in mid-April when our friend Vanesa was visiting. On the 2nd floor is an aquarium and this fish was swimming around one tank. This photo is the best of a dozen tries to photograph the little bugger. I don’t remember what variety of fish it [...]
Picture of the day – Dot and ribbon
Continuing with the string idea, I have a bit of ribbon that hangs from the lamp on my desk. Dot eyes it everytime she roams on my desk. I managed to get this shot one night as she was trying to bite it. She’s a rather small cat. Maybe five or six pounds, so it’s [...]
picture of the day – cats
Today’s photo comes from at least a week ago. It’s well known that cats like playing with yarn, but we’ve managed to make these two cats be very kittenish, which Sam says he hasn’t witnessed in a long time.
