About Us

Sam met Misty in March, 2008 through a ‘game’ called Second Life. As xquitz Banjo and Skaja Carter, we became friends and then evolved into a Real Life relationship. When we became a couple in Second Life, we noticed that combining the first half of xquitz’s last name with the latter half of Skaja’s formed ‘banter’, thus the name of the site. We got married May 23, 2010.

About Sam: I like coffee, movies, writing, video games, boingboing.net, maker.com and my cats. I’ve drawn in pen and graphite, but now am moving towards three dimensional and practical projects. I do my best to stay focused on things which is a little tough considering everything under the sun interests me. One day I hope to be a decent guitar player.

About Misty: I often purposely try to live up to the meaning of my first name, at times with mixed results. I love most music, and I don’t think about genres as a rule. Working on finding my purpose in life, I read about a lot of things. I grew up in Minnesota, moving to Florida in 2009. I have 3 personality disorders and a slew of other things “wrong” with me, which get referenced often. I will answer to Skaja (pronounced Sky-ah), and many of my friends refer to me with that name. I get hooked on things that resonate with me, often mentioning them to the point of obsession. I think chocolate should be its own food group. I don’t like cold weather and I think snow is pretty as long as I don’t have to drive in it. I do, however, choose to do so each December to celebrate the holidays with my family. I ramble when I’m nervous. I’m an INFP, an Aries Sun, Cancer Moon, Gemini Ascendant and a Fire Dragon. Doing your math, I’m 34. I’m madly in love with the other human behind this webspace. It’s nice to meet you. Welcome to the walking contradiction of being me.

About Dot: Sup Bitches? I’m Dot and this is my blog. I spend most of my time these days with my headphones on working on my collages since my dad won’t let me join the Tampa Derby Darlins. I’m an amateur mixed martial arts competitor in the lightweight devision because I’m waiting until I can find a better sparring partner than Kato to put in for sponsorship. Movies: 300, Iron Man, Kill Bill, The Ugly Truth. Music: The Go-Gos, Sonic Youth, sometimes The Misfits.

About Kato: Hi My name is Kato, and my favorite thing to do is to spend time curled up. I like warm, small places where it’s nice and quiet and I can write in my journal.
